OMNIATRACE is a hardware/software system designed for managing the food traceability in the supply chain. The system allows to be compliant to any legislation related to food traceability, recording the exact place of origin of the product, the delivery process and the place of its sale. In addition, the system provides the functionality of mass balance in order verify that everything that enters the supply chain is in balance with what comes out, including leftovers or waste.
The traceability system manages all the phases of the products, from the provision of the raw materials, to the stage of industrial processing, packaging, storage and shipment. The system can also be interfaced with other software that is already in use in the customer company. It is able to manage very complex cases where the actors of the supply chain are many and scattered throughout the territory.
When necessary, it is possible to automate the processes by integrating the system with the equipment located at the production site, achieving a simple goal but of primary importance: an information is entered into the system exactly when it is generated. To ease the stage of data entry and, at the same time, reduce the possibility of errors, other than touch screen devices the system can be equipped with modern tools for reading bar codes or RFIDs.
The traceability system, being in its essence a document management system, can produce the documents required to certify the traceability of the supply chain and manage the workflow by assigning the appropriate permissions to users depending on their specific roles.
